BHSc (Podiatry), PGrad Dip (Podiatry) UK, RPod.
I attained my Podiatry degree from the Central Institute of Technology (CIT) in Wellington. Whilst studying I also worked briefly in the Diabetes Outpatients Clinic at Vaiola Hospital in Tonga. I have a post graduate diploma in Podiatry from the University College of Northampton (UCN), England. While in England I worked for the National Health Service and private clinics. Returning to NZ in 2002 I worked in various Wellington GP practices and have been practicing at Wakefield since 2003.
As a High Performance NZ Sports Provider, I have treated past and present professional sports people. I have been a supervising podiatrist at the London Marathon, podiatrist for National Track and Field, Wellington and part of a podiatry team for National and World Mountain Running Championship held in Wellington. I looked after the English football team when they were in Wellington for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup. I was an on call podiatrist for the Rugby World Cup matches that were played in Wellington.
I am Wellington’s first accredited Sports Podiatrist.
As well as providing general podiatry services I have a special interest in sports podiatry. I provide a range of services including sports injury and general rehabilitation, running assessments, video gait analysis, footwear evaluations and the provision of orthoses if needed. I can also perform paediatric (child) lower limb assessments. Podiatry to me is about keeping people active.
