Ahmed Barazanchi is a New Zealand trained Upper GI Surgeon based in Wellington. He holds a medical degree from the University of Otago and completed a PhD from the University of Auckland. Ahmed then pursued post-fellowship training with the accredited program of Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery Association (AANZGOSA). His post-fellowship training is three years of upper GI fellowships at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, and Auckland City Hospital.
Ahmed provides oesophagogastric, bariatric, and general surgical care at Wellington Public Hospital, where he is currently the lead oesophageal surgeon.
Ahmed is Consulting at Wakefield Specialist Centre. Patients can expect timely care with appointments currently available within two weeks. He is dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care with a focus on minimally invasive techniques.
