Prof Scott Harding is a cardiologist specialised in the treatment of complex coronary disease, in particular, chronic total coronary occlusions, having performed more than 1000 CTO interventions. Prof Harding is an expert in anterograde wiring techniques, retrograde techniques and anterograde dissection re-entry, and has lectured on, and proctored complex coronary and CTO intervention internationally. Other interventional interests include, intravascular imaging, and treatment of severely calcified lesions, with a clinical interest in acute coronary syndrome management and a research into vascular biology.

About Prof Scott Harding

Prof Scott Harding is the Director of the Cardiology Research Group and an Interventional Cardiologist at Wellington Hospital, Wellington, New Zealand. Prof Harding is also an Adjunct Professor at the School of Biological Sciences, Victoria University, Wellington and a past chairman of the New Zealand Interventional Group. He undertook cardiology training in Wellington Hospital, New Zealand and the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, United Kingdom before undertaking an Interventional Fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA.  

As well as a general cardiologist, Prof Harding is an expert in interventional cardiology. In particular the treatment of complex coronary disease including chronic total coronary occlusions. Prof Harding has lectured on, and proctored hundreds of complex PCI, and intravascular imaging internationally, and has published more than 100 papers. His current research interests include, intravascular imaging, optimising PCI and platelet biology.
